The mission of
the Divine Harmony Foundation is to tell the story, and teach the attitudes
of peace.
The Story
The story is a story for organizing
the global knowledge civilization now growing all around the Earth.
The world is in transition and turmoil now, but it is moving into a long
period of necessary peace based on a new type of economy, the global knowledge
economy. Agricultural and industrial economies of the past required
competition between human groups, and promoted war to capture scarce natural
resources. The global knowlwedge economy requires global peace.
The transition can be smooth or tragic, depending on how well the people
understand what is happening to them. If the people have a story
that tells them what is happening, why and how to live successfully in
their new circumstances, then they will thrive in global peace and prosperity.
The Attitudes Of Peace
The new global knowledge economy requires peace,
so its machines will not be broken by war. "We all eat from the same
bowl, so we cannot let anyone break the bowl." People have learned
the attitudes of war. To make the transition smoother and with far
less human suffering, the people need to learn the attitudes of peace that
will sustain them for the forseeable future.
It is not the mission of the Foundation to get the people to believe the story, but merely to tell it and teach the attitudes of peace. When the people hear the story they will find some of it believable and follow it. They will find other parts not believable and ignore those parts. Different people will find different parts of it believable. Finally the people will change the story to what they need to survive and flourish. The mission of the Divine Harmony Foundation is to tell the story and let the people do with it as they will.
The story , if believed and followed by the people, leads to a necessary global peace and prosperity for most people, unlike the world has ever seen. The engine that makes this work is a new kind of economy, a global knowledge economy. Its main product is new knowledge of how to cause change to create new products and services. It is an economy of plenty. There is effectively an unlimited supply of its natural resource, new knowledge, to discover, and new value to be generated by the knowledge economy. As knowledge grows, it can do more and more for people for less and less cost. It is the most powerful economy the world has ever known. It sweeps all before it, and molds a new global culture to sustain it indefinitely, generation after generation, which is the global knowledge civilization.
The story is one of necessary global peace brought about by the new global knowledge economy. If the Foundation teaches the attitudes of peace that support the new global culture, the transition will be smoother, more natural and with much less needless suffering by people around the world. This is why it is importsant to teach the attitudes of peace now.
The story has been written. Now it is the mission of the Foundation to get it out to the people. If the people adopt it, or much of it, it will bring world peace and prosperity to most people.
The story is a trilogy describing the Flowers of the Universe (What's happening now in the history of the universe), the First Flower (the global knowledge civilization on Earth), and Inner Friendship (How to live successfully in the global knowledge civilization). The trilogy is called Divine Harmony, (c) Copyright 2001 by the Divine Harmony Foundation, which was learned and written by Dr. Jonathan Burch over a 40 year period.
People understand with stories. Divine Harmony is a story to help the people understand the new global knowledge civilization. If they understand what is happening, they will not fear it or each other as much. If they see its powerful promise for improving their lives and they lives of others, they will more readily want to help it grow and prosper, including having the self discipline to keep the peace and make it work. All of this means a more peaceful transition, with less war, less loss of life and less human suffering. Therefore it is the mission of the Divine Harmony Foundation to tell the story.
A part of that process of telling the story is to teach the attitudes of peace, which are the cultural foundation of the new global knowledge civilization. The global knowledge economy must have peace, because it cannot thrive, if its machines, the computer, communications, transportation and financial networks are broken by war, and it is the only economy most of the world has. Nearly everyone around the world, directly or indirectly, receives their sustenance from the global knowledge economy. This is the reason for the necessary peace that characterizes the global knowledge civilization.
The attitudes of partnership and peace, rather than the attitudes of dominance and war, are taught by the Foundation. If people wanted to live in peace, how would they do it? What attitudes would they have about normal human interactions? For example, if someone wrongs you, do not immediately seek revenge, immediately seek reconciliation of the injured relationship. The people need to be taught the power and beauty of harmonious relationships and of reconciliation, especially as a method to make them more secure in their global knowledge economy. Part of the mission of the Foundation is to teach the attitudes of peace, so the people will know them.
ORGANIZATION
The Divine Harmony Foundation is an Oklahoma non-profit corporation. The Directors are the members of the Foundation. The Directors are Dr. Jonathan Burch, Dr. Ralph Doty and Robert R. Orner. The officers are President, Dr. Jonathan Burch, and Vice-President, Secretary-Treasurer Jerry J. Dunlap, II. The office of the Foundation is located at 825 N.W. 58Th Street, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73118. The certificate of incorporation and exemption information are available at the office of the Foundation.
