This is a Christian version of the Humble Heart taught by Jesus Christ in the Christian Bible.

"Come to me all, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."  Matthew 11: 29.

Christ in his servant mode describes himself as gentle and humble in heart.  He is not out to control you, or use you for selfish purposes.  He seeks to show you how to respond to life the way you were designed to respond.  This way will lead you to your fulfillment as a whole person.  This is the attitude that leads to peace and "rest for your souls".

The secret to the peace of Christ may be described as having a humble heart.  It makes one gentle.  It opens one to communication with the Holy Spirit.  It easily, lightly and naturally guides one away from sin and towards fulfillment.  Learning to have a humble heart from Jesus Christ is a great lesson to be sought.  Having a humble heart is a precious trait eagerly to be learned and mastered.  You can learn it from the Master.

First learn how to begin to have the humble heart.  The first lesson is to learn how to open the door and close the door to your inner being where the soul resides and you can receive the messages of the Holy Spirit.

     c. The Humble Heart

The attitude of the humble heart is beautifully expressed in I Corinthians 13:4-8:

Love is patient, love is kind.  It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices in the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
  Love never fails.

If you gently set the self aside, for a while, always to come back, this is what your awareness would be like.  Set aside the things of the self and the immediate agenda for the day.  Set aside worry, set aside anxiety, set aside impatience, set aside intentional meanness, viciousness and revenge, set aside envy, set aside the need to boast, or to be proud, or to be rude.  Do not think of self's increase for self's sake.  Be at peace.  Do not be angry, unless it is a righteous anger that offends your inner soul, but does not puff up your self or sense of self worth or sense of  importance.  You do not need anger in the humble heart, so do not pay attention to wrongs, put them out of your thinking.  Do not delight in evil, especially doing something harmful to another person.  Do not feel guilty.  Do not injure yourself.  Where a wrong is sensed, ignore it if you can.  If not, forgive the wrong doer, put it out of your mind for now.  Instead, be at peace.  Rejoice and bask in the glow of seeing each person live as God created the person to live, in life going on as God created it, the truth of life.  Participate in the truth, not in evil.  Live the truth not evil.  Live your harmony in your circumstances as God created you to live, and help others live their harmony in their circumstances as God created them to live.  Protect the way of life that is the truth, each precious person's fulfillment as a whole person in his or her circumstances living God's harmony for his or her life.  Protect, trust, hope and always persevere.  Keep living God's harmony for your life.  Do not give up.  Trust in God and Trust in life.  Trust in love.  Love never fails.

If you want to enter into the condition of the humble heart, love, for love never fails.  Love God, love Jesus Christ, love the Holy Spirit, love beautiful, harmonious life, love your self as a precious part of God's harmony of the whole universe, love your fulfillment as a whole person, and that of everyone you know.  Even love your suffering, for it teaches you the truth about life, which then can be lived harmoniously.

Listen to Jesus as he teaches about the attitudes of the humble heart that lead to opening the door to the Holy Spirit and full life:

According to Matthew, when Jesus heard that John the Baptist was in prison, he took up the responsibility, and began to preach.  His message was for everyone to learn to live in the natural, harmonious center of their life, to change from living down on the sinful sides of the bowl and instead to keep their helicopter balanced and centered on top of the bowl, because in so doing one was living in the kingdom of heaven, living their harmonious natural fulfillment as whole persons, living as God created them to live, and that way of life was very close to them if they only knew how to live it.

From that time on Jesus began to preach, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.

Jesus taught and healed.  A great crowd gathered.  Jesus had an opportunity to teach what had been welling up inside him for a long time.  It came pouring out in the Sermon On The Mount.

Blessed are the poor in spirit (humble), for their's is the kingdom of heaven.

The very first beatitude defines all the rest.  Having a humble heart leads to living God's harmony for your life, to living your harmonious natural fulfillment as a whole person.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

Part of the humble heart is genuine compassion for other people.  It is hard to abuse other people and prevent them from achieving their fulfillment, God's harmony for their lives, if one genuinely cares for them for themselves and has compassion for their suffering.  Harming other people out of a sense of control or superiority is an expression of selfishness.  It is the opposite of the humble heart.  Those who do have genuine caring and compassion  for others will be comforted.  Compassion will not harm you.  You do not need to steel yourself against it for fear of any competitive weakness or emotional harm you might experience.  Be compassionate, you will be comforted.

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

After all the dust settles from humans fighting humans, who will be left.  Eventually it will not be the warriors, whose work will be done, but the calm quiet people who go about their daily work creating the kingdom of God on Earth.  This will be evident in the Knowledge Civilization where war will be suppressed in favor of the one, healthy global economy, and those who are quietly and happily creative contributors to the global economy, their families and communities, will be fulfilled as whole persons, and will flourish on the Earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.

Live the truth of the natural harmony, and you will be fulfilled as a whole person.  Be righteous and upright.  Live centered on top of the bowl.  Do not seek to deceive, or seek unfair advantage.  Seek to do what is right.  Long for the right, and your longing will be filled with fulfillment as a whole person.  Seek to live rightly for yourself and for others, and you will fully live God's harmony for your life.

Blessed are the merciful, for they shall be shown mercy.

Keep no record of wrongs.  If a wrong occurs by you or someone else, be merciful.  Help yourself, or that person get back up on top of the bowl and help them stay there.  Everyone will fall off the top of the bowl at various times, including you.  That is the point of original sin.  You too will need mercy from yourself and others to get back up on top of the bowl again.  Be merciful and you will obtain mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

Part of the humble heart is to be pure in heart, unblemished by sin and selfishness.  Those who learn to live this way will see the beautiful harmony God has wrought.  Jesus said, "If you have seen me, you have seen the Father."  If you learn to live on top of the bowl as Jesus did and taught, you will experience what Jesus in all his humanity experienced, you will experience the same universal harmony which connects all of existence and makes it one, you will see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called son's of God.

There is so much selfish conflict among people in the world that those who can bring about a reduction in that conflict, so that more people can live with a humble heart and live on top of their bowl, they will be helping create the conditions for those people to live their harmonious natural fulfillment, and in so doing are carrying out the original plan of God, enabling those people to live God's harmony for their lives.  These assistants to nurturing God's plan are worthy to be called sons of God.

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Who will be the leaders of humankind?  Who will hunger for righteousness, and lead others to it in spite of persecution by non-believers?  Those who do will change the course of human history forever, and bask in the love of God forever.

Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all manner of evil against you because of me.  Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.  Those who hunger for righteousness in their own lives and the lives of others and proclaim him and teach his teachings are the trail blazers like the prophets.  People need to learn to live fully.  Those who teach them, in spite of persecution, who quietly and calmly persevere, who by the example of their lives and their ministry let their light shine to help the Holy Spirit change people's hearts, these will change human history and be with God forever.
